Keystage 4 results

Ditton Park Academy is pleased to report some outstanding achievements by its students in their GCSE and vocational qualifications this summer 2022. This has been truly remarkable given the challenging circumstances of the past 2/3 years and we are delighted for them as they launch into the next stage of their post 16 education and careers. We are incredibly proud of what our year 11 students have achieved with the support of our fantastic staff. We cannot wait to see many of them back in our sixth form.

This year, for the first time since 2019, grades were assigned based solely on the students’ performance. Ditton Park students rose to this challenge with maturity and dedication which should stand them in good stead for any future endeavours.  Principal Nick Caulfield, expressed his pride in the efforts of all staff and our students’ achievements:

“Our students and staff have worked incredibly hard and showed amazing resilience and commitment to achieve these GCSE results in the most challenging of times.   We are very proud of how they coped with such a difficult and disrupted couple of years. Our staff have worked tirelessly to ensure students are all able to progress onto skilled employment, apprenticeships, and further education to continue their studies”.

Post-16 results

Ditton Park Academy is pleased to report some a strong return to formal exams with some excellent results by its students in their A levels and vocational qualifications this summer 2022. This cohort has shown remarkable resilience over the last two and a half years, not only with the general COVID disruptions, but particularly as this is the year who missed sitting their GCSE exams in 2020. We are delighted for them as their outstanding grades gives them a strong basis in which to launch into the next stage of their education and careers. The specialist knowledge and dedication of our amazing staff, including our outstanding Post 16 team has been a key factor in students applying for and gaining such fantastic opportunities, including top Russell Group universities.  Our teams have also worked hard to ensure all students have also been successful at securing their future aspiration whether this is further courses, apprenticeships, or skilled employment.

Senior Assistant Principal, i/c Sixth Form, Karl Fenn is happy to report Ditton Park’s students’ great success in securing the next stage of their education:

“We are delighted with both the quality of destination and nature of course that our Year 13 students have achieved. 56 of our Year 13 students were accepted onto their firm (first) choice, with another 14 students securing their insurance choice placements.

A significant number of our students have secured places at Russell Group Universities, including Imperial College, Kings College, Queen Mary and Warwick. The most popular destination for our students proved to be Royal Holloway, with Law, Politics and Psychology being the most popular courses picked for undergraduate study by our students. The Sixth Form Team look forward to welcoming our alumni back next year via workshops and assemblies”

Note: The results shown are currently the government’s provisional results for 2022. Validated results are normally released in January.

* Progress 8 – can be seen a ‘value-added’ measure and compares the progress student have made since primary school. A score of 0 is the national average, so anything above that is above average. A score or +0.5 would indicate that on average children made half a grade more progress at this school than the national average. Further details about Progress 8 and Attainment 8 can be found HERE.

** Attainment 8 – this measure shows the academic performance of the school, and can be (broadly) thought of as the average GCSE grade. It is calculated by using the top grades across eight, government approved, qualifications. Further details about Progress 8 and Attainment 8 can be found HERE.

† – the EBacc or English Baccalaureate is a combination of qualifications that the government has recommended which give students a wide range of options in their future education or employment. To enter the EBacc, you need to undertake the following GCSEs: English language, English literature, maths, two sciences (combined science or two from biology, computer science, chemistry and physics), a humanity (geography or history) and a language. Further details about the EBacc can be found HERE.
